YAP206 Beginning Sculpture

Class starts one week early and meets four times: June 13, 20, 27 & July 11. Students get down, dirty, and 3-dimensional using a variety of mediums including clay, plaster, papier-mâché, and wire. This is an introduction to the basic elements of 3-D design using both additive and subtractive processes with emphasis on form, line, texture and light. Instruction is geared to your ability, and introduces you to professional sculpture methods, tools, and techniques.

YAP401 Traditional Film Photography

This intense and exciting course introduces the basics of black and white 35mm film photography. Learn how to compose interesting images, process film, and print in a darkroom. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about art, history, chemistry and technique.

PDY102 Figure Drawing

Want to unleash your artistic creativity? Students work in charcoal and graphite, building upon the basics and exploring various techniques such as contour drawing, use of sighting and negative spaces, and gesture studies to master the fundamentals of drawing.

Learn the basics of the potter’s wheel. Center the clay, open and throw small cylinders, trim, finish, decorate, then glaze and fire your creation.
