Mission Statement for the Sculpture Garden
The primary focus of the Sculpture Garden is to present thought provoking, quality exhibitions and related programs. Sculptures reflect a variety of media and represent the work of local, regional and national artists. As an extension of the community-based school of art, the Contemporary Sculpture Garden is committed to providing educational shows for our students, members and the diverse population of Central Florida.

All exhibitions and lectures are free and open to the public.

Contemporary Sculpture Garden

The attractively landscaped Crealdé campus features the Sculpture Garden
with more than 60 three-dimensional pieces of outdoor art. The collection represents over 60 Florida artists including internationally-renowned sculptors Johann and Kristin Eyefells, Cheryl Bogdanowitsch and Michael Galletta. The Garden is curated by Senior Faculty Member and Sculpture Instructor David Cumbie.

The garden winds throughout the school's lakeside campus, and is free and open to the public. School groups and other civic organizations may arrange for a brief tour or discussion with the gallery staff by contacting the Crealde office.

The Sculpture Garden represents the work of many of Central Florida’s most recognized artists and several international artists we have grown to know. New works have been added since our first dedication in 1997, and now with our new acquisitions, we feel we have realized our original concept. It is important for Crealdé School of Art to be a special place to visit and view contemporary art. When we take art out of the gallery and use our landscape setting to create special niches and passages, we add tremendously to our creative environment. Outdoor sculpture allows for unlimited educational opportunities for our students and for visitors to witness the variety in contemporary sculpture. Such opportunities build awareness of the diversity
of styles that exist.
As for the artists involved, the outdoor environment presents the challenge of creating works durable enough to survive the elements of nature and the touch of the viewer’s hand. The broad cross section of sculpture and the creative materials used manifests a unique document of sculptural history in the Central Florida area and is a testimony of the present movement of artists working today. Without the gifts and long-term loan made by these participants, this show would have been impossible. I would like to acknowledge all of our generous friends that have helped us create this special place. I deeply appreciate the enthusiastic response by the sculpture community and the incredible contribution they have made to the cultural landscape of Central Florida. Thank you.
