Dynamics of Soft Pastels

A basic set of soft pastels such as Sennelier, Unison, Winsor Newton or Rembrandt . At least 25-30 colors.

You can purchase Unison single sticks and sets at Art Systems on HWY 436.
Unison sets can be purchased at Art Supply Warehouse online. I think it is www.ASW.Com
Students should also pick between five and ten single colors they really like.
 
Paper -Richardson sanded paper from Art Systems on HWY 436 - bring full size pieces -They have light red color that will work.
I also use Art Spectrum paper. I paint on the the darker colors, blue, gray, red, and green. No White, Yellow or light colors!! You can order it from Art Supply Warehouse online also. Wallace paper is also a good choice. 

A small package of soft Vine Charcoal. I like it black.
 
Bring a board and clips to attach your paper to. I use foam core but any hard surface will work.
 
Gloves (the clear ones from the drug store) work great for protecting your fingers or liquid gloves.
 
A small container for water and a small sponge. I prefer sea sponges.
 
Pastel Fixative
