PD 102 INTRODUCTION TO PAINTING

Prerequisites: This is an Introductory course- no prior experience required

Description: This course will provide a hands-on introduction to basic methods and techniques in the three major painting media of watercolor,
acrylics and oil paints as well as 2 sessions of drawing.

OBJECTIVE: To give the student sufficient information and experience with each of these media to allow a choice about which, if any,

of the medium to pursue with more in-depth study.

METHODS: 1. Demonstration and lecture
2. Assignment of appropriate projects and hands-on guidance through to completion
3. Open critique and discussion of students’ work

REQUIRED MATERIALS:
1 Sketch Book 12" x 16" approx.
1 kneaded eraser
1 #2 Pencil
