Artist's Statement
Making photographs is about
going deep within yourself and discovering something unique. I think that's
the only way to find your style. I particularly like the way a camera sees
things differently than the naked eye.
"I was
introduced a few years ago to alternative printing processes while attending
the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies in Daytona Beach. These
processes were used during photography's infancy in the 1800s. The
techniques gave new meaning to black and white prints. I like the
involvement in using basic artist materials with photographic chemicals to
produce photographs that look like they had been painted.
"The response
I've seen from people viewing my work at regional art shows and galleries
throughout the United States evokes an appreciation of an art form used many
years ago."
