Douglas Scott Bringle, His clay work is handbuilt. Doug is influenced by pre-Columbian forms, particularly Maya, Moche and Nazca. He also admires the bold, graphic art of the peoples of the Northwest Coast. For surface decorations, he often adds spots or stripes, similar to the repeating patterns found on fish, insects, shells and mammals. His pieces are available at the Orlando Museum of Art Gift Shop and at Pot Luck Studios on Aloma Avenue in Winter Park, as well as at Crealdé's Selections shop in the campus office. His artwork is also part of the permanent collection of the Maitland Art Center. Doug is a graduate of the University of Florida and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. |
