Rima Jabbur, Senior Gallery Curator;
Painting and Drawing Instructor
Rima earned a Bachelor of Arts in
Philosophy from Cornell University, and a Masters of Fine Arts in Painting
from Towson State University. She joined the faculty at Crealdé in the early
1990s. She has taught at Valencia Community College and Rollins College,
and serves as Chairperson of the Alice and William Jenkins Gallery
Committee. As Senior Curator, she has organized numerous exhibitions.
She is a past recipient of an Individual Artist Recognition Award from
United Arts of Central Florida and her work is in the public art collection
housed at Orlando City Hall.
Artist's Statement
"The associations which I am evoking in my
paintings are pre-verbal, closer to the way one thinks when daydreaming.
Painting is itself a contemplative activity which takes me into
psychological spaces that are difficult to reach. The paintings are a record
of that journey." |
