KEN AUSTIN, the son of a professional artist, is a teacher, artist, and founder of the Central Florida Watercolor Society. Prior to moving to Florida, Ken was president of the Watercolor Art Society of Houston, and served on the Board of Directors there for over six years. Over the past 20 years, Ken has taught lessons and presented demos, lectures and workshops privately and for two years with Seminole Community College. He is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and the Florida Watercolor Society, and his workshops and judging skills are in demand from Florida to Texas to Michigan. With few exceptions his students praise his inclusive, supportive, informed teaching style, based on a desire to help them achieve their goals in art, not simply follow his directions. Ken’s tastes in art are broad, ranging from pop art to realism, and his paintings reveal his expertise in both modern and traditional styles. His work has hung in national, regional and local juried competitions, and in museum shows by invitation, and has won praise and prizes from nationally known artists and jurors. He is currently represented by Comma Gallery in Orlando. Ken’s work is currently shown at Comma Gallery in Orlando (also the site of his studio), Fogle Galleries in Jacksonville and online at “Source That Art” at www.acorkabove.com Ken Austin, NWS, FWS
