Doug Bringle

Doug Bringle joined Crealdé School of Art’s faculty in 2001. Currently he teaches adult handbuilding classes, children's clay classes, ArtCamp classes, and offers an adult/child workshop at the end of each session. He also organizes the Crealdé Spring and Holiday Art Sales, which allow faculty, alumni and advanced students the opportunity to show and sell their best work to the public. Occasionally he conducts corporate retreat clay projects.

Artist Statement
Doug is influenced by pre-Columbian forms, particularly Maya, Moche and Nazca. He also admires the bold, graphic art of the peoples of the Northwest Coast, Japanese Jomon and Chinese jade and bronze forms. His clay work is hand-built. Sea themes are featured in many of his pieces, reflecting his birth on a small Atlantic island in the Azores. His pieces are available at the Orlando Museum of Art Gift Shop, as well as at Crealdé's Selections shop in the campus office. His artwork is also part of the permanent collection of the Maitland Art Center.
Doug Bringle, Senior Faculty in Ceramics, is a graduate of the University of Florida and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
