Get down, dirty, and 3-dimensional using a variety of mediums including
clay, plaster, papier-mache, and wire. This is an introduction to the
basic elements of 3-D design using both additive and subtractive
processes with emphasis on form, line, texture and light. Instruction is
geared to your ability, and introduces you to professional sculpture
methods, tools, and techniques.

Handbuilding with clay… the boundaries of what you can make are the
limits of your imagination. We will use basic to advanced coil, pinch
and slab techniques to create animal vessels. Awaken the clay animal
spirits trapped inside you and set them free! Appropriate for all
levels.

This class is a self-paced exploration of the potter’s wheel from the
basics and beyond. Take a lump of clay and learn to center, stretch and
manipulate until a pot emerges. Explore decorating and glazing
techniques to create pottery to keep and to share. Repeated sessions
will expand your skills. Bring an old towel and play in the mud!
