PHY147 Digital Photography

Thursday, 4:30–6:30 p.m. Studio 5
Learn the basics of digital photography. Topics include resolution, digital controls, composition, lighting, and lens use, enabling you to make better photos.

TDY121 Hand Building Ceramics
Instructor: Doug Bringle
Thursday, 4:00–6:00 p.m. Studio 4
A complete introduction to forming, decorating, glazing, and firing clay objects. Instruction covers basic to advanced construction methods of coil, pinch, and slab construction, exposing students to clay’s infinite possibilities. Projects are appropriate to all levels.

TDY122 Beginning Wheel Throwing
Instructor: Belinda Glennon
Wednesday, 4:00–6:00 p.m. Studio 4
Students learn the basics of the potter’s wheel. Center the clay, open and throw small cylinders, trim, finish, decorate, then glaze and fire your creation.

Want to unleash your artistic creativity? Students work in charcoal and graphite, building upon the basics and exploring various techniques such as contour drawing, use of sighting and negative spaces, and gesture studies to master the fundamentals of drawing.

TDY123 Beginning Sculpture
Instructor: Vadim Malkin
Thursday, 6:30–8:30 p.m. Studio 7
In this class, we will examine various levels of 3-dimensional design. This will allow students a broad base of knowledge to build from. Clay sculpture, metal working, and mixed media are among the experiences to be gained in this series.
