"Terpsichore" now showing at the Albin Polasek Museum in Winter Park.

Sculptor Paul McNear created this sculpture of Terpsichore, Goddess of Dance and Choral Music in honor of the Choral Festival held every year. Paul's intent was to make her appear as if she were floating, lifted off her feet from the inspiration of hearing beautiful music.

Tonight!
See the sculptures of Daryl Golden
and the paintings of Toni Taylor, May 15 - June 13 at The Gallery at Avalon Island.

The exhibit debuts in Avalon Island’s main gallery on May 15 from 6pm to 9pm, as part of the Third Thursday Art Walk and will be on display through June 13, 2008. Daryl, who lives in Central Florida, has lived and studied internationally. She is a member of The Florida Sculpture Society, The Florida Artist Registry, and is a fellow at Crealdé School of Art, where she studied sculpture with David Cumbie and Vincent Sansone.

Keys to the Earth, clay & bronze

Daryl's current work in ceramics and bronze depicts the human figure and evokes emotions and speaks to inner feelings, fears and relationships. The Gallery at Avalon Island is open from 12pm to 6pm, Tuesday through Saturday at 37 S. Magnolia Ave. Orlando, FL 32801.
